cost-less way of web hosting

There are many free web hosting if you mean by cost-less is free. However obviously its not suitable for production use. Hosting nowadays is honestly very cheap, at least get those cheap ones.

Which is the most affordable or cost-less way of web hosting?

Go to a web host who have a free web hosting package. They do this kind of things to hope that you will become a paying customer or at least pay for the additional things (domain(s) and SSL(s)). It may be on cheaper hardware but it my best thing that I can think of for getting your "feet in the door" without shelling out for running a full time site when it just out on the internet for the first time.

Did you (or anyone else) start out in a free hosting environment and upgrade? Just curious. Looking for some real life experiences here.

Everyone who I've ever talked to that was successful with web hosting has always paid for their accounts. For what it might be worth.

Myself I had already knew the quality of the provider and just needed the account for something temporary. But yes any provider worth their salts will let you do it when your ready since that the whole point of them offering free hosting. It's like getting a bit of a food sampling at the mall in hopes that you will buy some of that when your hungry for more.

Easy answer, free hosting is cost-less. but it is difficult to run a commercial project in free hosting platform.

Which is why you don't use it permanently and instead use it to offset your expenses while you can. Then once your "up the speed" and nearing limits then start paying for more "realistic" limits.

Don't go for free hosting. It is better to check out more web hosting providers and contact them directly. Some of them will be more than happy to offer you a deal. If you are serious with your business, you need paid, managed hosting services.
