Community Discord?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering—do any of you use Discord for community support for your company? What’s your take on it? Do you use it to stay up to date with your clients? Maybe post sales every once in a while?

Thanks

I tried to use Discord as a client a number of times and gave up on it every time, but I know it is popular among certain segments of the market.

Probably not a bad option if you have thousands of clients, or if you serve a specific demographic.

I can't agree more! Hopefully more providers can chime in here I wanted a few opinions before possibly offering a community server for our clients.

I think it depends on the market you're focusing on. Seems like those who sell VPS for game servers have a Discord setup, where others who are not in that niche do not.

In general, using Discord to provide technical support to users sounds like a good idea, but I don't know how appropriate it is, because if you already provide support in tickets and messengers, adding Discord may lead to staff overload. In general, this may not always be useful, for example, I use one discord channel of one market and of course they provide technical support there, but it is clearly slower than when compared with tickets.

Couldn't agree more. That being said though, there is something to say about being able to see the hierarchy of the business and able to speak directly with the owner instantly, without having to go through e-mail. Kind of gives a more personal feel to general questions not pertaining to support.
