ClientExec vs. WHMCS

WHMCS all the way - its easy to skin, regularly updated and well supported. No complaints at all. They've also got far more plugin support going for them, making it an even more attractive proposition in comparison to the likes of ClientExec and Blesta - Blesta haven't even got a DirectI domain reseller plugin yet!

I appreciate this is an old thread but seeing as it's been recently bumped and others are posting their comments I thought I'd add my opinion.

Having used both ClientExec (2-3 years ago) and WHMCS (currently) I much prefer WHMCS.

Initially I had lots of issues with ClientExec not actually generating new invoices for some clients meaning we were loosing income and additionally I didn't find it very flexible.

Having now used WHMCS for the past 2-3 years, I've had no major problems and its very reassuring to know that Matt and his team are a ticket away to resolve any emergencies or assist with bespoke work.

I would recommend ClientExec to start off with, especially if you get it for free. When you do have the budget, I would HIGHLY recommend switching to WHMCS.

In my opinion having used both I like WHMCS alot better. But as I made in a previous post on the forums it all comes down to the features you want and need.

With the new ClientExec coming out and I need to purchase to upgrade because my support ran out about 3 months ago. I've been hearing a lot of good things about WHMCS. Anybody who used both these programs want to let me know why they choose one over the other?

WHMCS is more popular and customers more familiar with it.

ClientExec is cheaper but i prefer WHMCS. it is soo stable and great script. And the most commong too

WHMCS because after trying it, nothing else is as easy and intuitive

We use CE and have been pleased with it thus far. We have previously used WHMCS and Ubersmith. While both had features we really enjoyed and dearly miss, the biggest issue we had with WHMCS was a bug in the PDF generation of invoices and the lack of concern from WHMCS about getting the bug fixed.

I would suggest trying each of the different systems out on a demo and see which one works the best for you. What works the best for one wont always work the best for you.

Good luck.

AB

Let me tell you.

My votes goes to WHMCS.

ClientExe is a great software too. if you on a cheaper budget.

the only thing whmcs is luck of is a chat system for staff like clientexec has.

ClientExec is kinda buggy but its good.

Hostbill is also a good one. but the support Sucks to the max.
