True I have not pushed the limits but so far I have not had the need to so even if its a so called "scam" I still am getting reliable web service at 1$ per month. I guess if someone else could have it cheaper or as cheap and allow more storage I'd check them out. But for now Iam satisfied.

I say again. What is your site with them?
Bolo, please answer the above to add credibility to your statements. Thank you.

Best,

Credibility? I use it, what do you want a receipt? If i put my web site here then what, flame me if you want but some here seem miffed that I found cheaper service than the ones they keep pushing in thier posts to know my webstie but then they could test my bandwidth and push the limits to make a point. No way. I use it for family pictures and a small cookbook business. I am not having you prove a point and pushing my bandwidth. For having a discussion here about trust I say I can and you want me to "prove" it. People here keep making statements about thier services Have I yet asked for proof of those statements or thier sites? As one of you has mentioned I may be the exception to the rule so why push it.
Yes I sound slightly miffed. People asked if they could trust onedollarhost.net ( the forum title) and you all responded with facts and opinions as you should. I did the same and I was jumped on. there are 2 sides to a discussion I happened to take the other side of the majority.
Let me put it this way. Say I give you my website, then what?

Bolo, it was rather a very simple question to present your web site (you can can PM me the URL if you don't want to showcase it publicly) for verification if you actually are using the service or how long you've been hosted with onedollarhost.

No one here believes that a company can offer UNLIMITED everything, high-tech equipment and support for $1 a month (at least 50% of which are gone only as merchant transaction fee). Period. You say you run a very small family site, and you are satisfied. I recommend you just try using 5-7 GB of transfer a month and I can almost guarantee your account will be shut down within hours. I don't think you'll be standing by the company as you do now.

The fact of the case is: You are one of few lucky users (if in fact you are - you refuse to present your web site address) who consume probably like 50-100MB of transfer a month. But do a search on the web and you will come up with plenty of negative reviews from customers who thought they were getting real service.

Again, I ask you to PM me your site's address for verification. Otherwise, your testimonial here has no value.

I'm not here to bust bubbles (well maybe I am) but you say that you use them for pictures and such. It's safe to say the company is a scam because it's offering a lie.

Unlimited transfer and space don't exist period. They're telling you an outright lie when you sign up. Sure it might be worth the storage space, but try to push the account for a real website that takes up resources - I can say from experience you won't make it far. Sure you might have a good storage account with them, but then again I can find free hosts that will allow for a decent storage and service.

Exactly how much have you called on support for help? If you don't want to answer, fine, I'm not trying to put you on the spot or anything. However, I don't like companies that have no trouble with telling a lie.

I'd really love to have a website that's hosted with them just to see where they get their servers from. I know that their main site is with Fasthosts.co.uk and if they have their servers there as well then they certainly can't be offering what they are (nor trully can they offer it with servers from anywhere).

@ Bolo

It's unfortuante that others have spammecd forums like this to drum up business, and give themselves favorable reviews by going under a hidden identity. That is the reason we are asking for the website address. There is no other motive - only an address can give credibility to your testimonial, or else everyone could post both negative and positive reviews about anyone, thereby making all reviews and testimonials invalid.

We don't want to 'test' out your account and force the host to shut you down due to overusage. We're professionals here, running our own companies - not a bunch of hackers looking to take down other competitors to prove a point. What purpose would it serve us to spend our time engaged in those activities? onedollarhost.net may prove us all wrong....we really don't know....but the unlimited hosting graveyard trend would suggest we're right in this case.

herm ...

Wow. I have also been interested in this Godly deal. I seek a dedicated server with about 40 gigs of space and over a 1000 gigs of transfer ... my research has shown that such requirements cost from $100-$1000+ per month. That has been the norm for me.

$1 per month for a contract of 12 months is an insane deal. I to have also wondered how a company could offer such a deal. I wrote them a message this morning and wait for some response. I asked is it true that I can have 40 gigs of space and 750 gigs of transfer? We will all find the answer, for if the case is true, perhaps their unlimited policy is valid. Of course they reserve some right to cancel or halt service ... yet there are no specifics. That does worry me.

As people have noted, there are a few "recent" remarks about this hosting company, most are very negative. Too many questions and not enough answers. The truth will be found out.

The truth will be found out.

It may be found out, but not by emailing them and asking these questions.

Do you actually think that these people will be honest in their reply to you, when they are so dishonest about what the offer?

Yes, I do seek to find out the truth and their honesty. If they claim "yes", and I do enroll in their service ... I will have time to find out and test what they have to offer.

In addition they claim they have a response time of 1 bizz day. So that is my starting point. If they keep their word and answer my question, I will go to step two. Once agiain the truth of the matter will be settled.

I definately wouldn't trust these guys!

The signup image on the right is taken from Fasthosts Internet Limited. So we have a breach of copyright law for a start.

Second, there is no support ticket system. It doesn't cost a penny to have a reliable support ticket system installed, so why isn't there one there?

Third, there are no forums. How can you tell other customer's views?

This host does not seem legit to me - or at least not a host you will get much from.

But hey, we all have our own opinions.

EDIT:

- Just noticed that on the 'services' page, the 'envisage' image is also one from Fasthosts Internet Limited. I may notify FH of these images.

- Also, i noticed the live support, which i had not noticed before. However this is not online. Suprise suprise :)

EDIT 2:

- just had another look around, there are many images that are from FH such as the sign up, envisage, money back and datacentre images on this page:
http://www.onedollarhost.net/hostingplans.asp

- Also, the 'reseller' image with the arrows on the 'reseller' page.

I would quite happily sit with the assumption of SCAM!

Good Luck.
When you are done with them I have some land in the Florida Everglades I can sell you real cheap.

lol. (I think you are right on this one Blue) Florida Everglades are real cheap.

update :: no word yet. :thumbdown and it is a simple sells questions.

Plain and simple - the term unlimited it marketing fluff. There's no possible way for their resources to be unlimited, everything has a capacity.

You are better of going for a hosting provider that you can trust based on a real good guess of the resources you need to get going. Having been on the outsourcing side of things, the hosting providers that charge nothing for unlimited this and that just make a bad shared hosting experience.

I signed up with this host over a year ago. 2 days later I hadn't recieved my account information so I filed a complaint with 2CheckOut and they promptly refunded me. I'm sure it was for the best.

yea i too have heard some bad stuff about them....I havent had any experience with them but iv heard that unlimited may have catches to it. try looking for other reviews on them.
