can i backup email - normal hosting account

I have an ensim hosting account and I have a load of emails saved in my inbox, is there anyway to save my emails through my ensim control panel so I can also restore them incase there was a problem and they were lost on the account?
 
Leo, I don't really have a good answer for you, but I've used FTP to copy my mail file to my local machine before. I suppose if your file got wiped on the server you could stick the file back and I would think it would work, but I've not tried it. I found my mail file in a directory like /var/spool/mail or something similar.

Use POP3 on your computer and most programs like outlook and office allow you to make a backup of what ever is in the inbox :P
 
Ah, yeah, FatalSw1tch, that's a good idea. Just configure your email program to pull down your mail but be sure to set it to not actually delete these emails. (Typically emails would be deleted.)
