Bitcoin payment

That is the wrong mentality to have, just because a payment option is available does not mean you have to offer it.

Yes, I agree. Probably I have incorrectly written my thoughts. What I meant is that Bitcoins are not the main payment method however we offer it because small count of client prefer it.

We accept PayPal and Bitcoin. We do not allow illegal content of any kind. We have a few clients who use it, people who use bitcoin generally really appreciate it if it's offered. We had to cancel direct credit card transactions due to fraud, but paypal lets you pay with credit.

Just thought I would come back and add an extra comment.

This past week I've had a lot of fraud attempts triggered, by people who want to pay my bitcoin. We've not had this before, so I hope it's not a growing trend.
Mainly people claiming to be from the US, but with African IPs.
Who knows why they want to claim to be American we have a good few African customers, and really don't care where our customers come from as long as they pay and don't harm anyone.

only they know why.

a few years back i used to sell PCs and Computer Inks and had a couple of customers in Africa with one of them having a store and purchased in bulk and always paid. 1 day i got an order for a PC from a guy in Africa and he passed all checks to be legitimate, the payment went through, so i ordered the PC which was delivered to me for me to send onto him.
I sent this off via a local courier who used UPS.
24 hrs later i get a call from bank to say the payment was fraudulent using a stolen card.
my though was i lost the PC, so i called the courier in the hope they could stop the delivery and return it.
i was lucky it was at sea, but not yet at destination, so it would be returned once it reached the port, but would cost me return costs.
so after a few days i got the PC back and managed to sell it again, but i still made a loss due to the delivery and return costs.

I know some big companies are using bitcoin for payment, so I'm sure it's no worst/better then one paypal

does not say one company is offering it then you have too, every business will have their own business plan etc.

as long as you offer

1) credit/debit card payment option
2) offline option like direct debit

this will cover most clients payments

options like

Paypal
Bitcoin

are secondary and provided only because clients request these.

personally if it was upto me i would not offer Paypal due to the many issues they have caused, but this is what clients want to use

You can use a payment processor that accepts all virtual currencies besides bitcoin. This give you the ability to be paid in every virtual currency your user might have. On top of that, you can convert to any virtual currency or withdraw to USD as fast as you receive the money. This means you will loose maximum 5% of the value, but you gain customers that would otherwise not buy from you. Think about it.

It does not. But some people here are connecting bitcoin with scams.
yes because its been run the same as the old Liberty Reserve as in offshore and used by fraudsters which eventually saw Liberty Reserve closed down by the authorities losing genuine users millions of dollars

Bitcoin payment is really good for hosting company because of there is no any risk of chargeback, etc but also not good for provider because of most of bitcoin user think that they are eligible to use fake details with bitcoins.

There is a security risk but I like BTC.

Its not the best, people are comfortable with paypal and credit card payment method. But here are some reasons you might consider using bitcoins:It's fast, cheap, there are no chargebacks, it’s as private as you want it to be...

Not only bitcoin there are other alternative payment gateways available. So be sure in selecting the most secured payment gateway.

We offer bitcoin payment method, few clients use it and it works just fine. That said paypal and credit card will probably always be used more but still if you could offer other methods as well I don't see why not.

The first thing I think seeing bitcoin and web hosting in the same sentence is "Hell no"... If there's one way to get anonymous cybercriminals on your servers...
