Best free forum software?

phpBB is the best forum software to me.

My favorite used to be phpBB but the plugin installation system is the worse I have ever seen. The rest in that forum is good though and everyone is familiar it.

MyBB and Simple Machines Forum are good ones too. I prefer SMF out of those. Burning Board Lite is also good but not completely free. You can use it for free for unlimited time but without all the features.

I think phpbb is very outdated. If I had to choose I would go with SMF over mybb. The ease of installing themes and mods are by far the easiest.

2. Kunena for Joomla
3. MyBB

Never had the pleasure of using VB. I use xenforo which is great.
