Banner or Text

I prefer text advertisements and text links than banners. I think they are more effective in promoting your products/website because they are also exposed to the Search Engine Optimization search and crawling spiders help index your textlinks into the search engine by keywords. Banners can only be clickable and they are mostly found on webpages but you cannot see them in the search engine.

I believe text and banners convert the same but text is better for SEO as others have already mentioned.
 
Which is better often depends on many factors such as the page, the layout, the design, the ad position, and other factors.
