are some people dumb?

I fully agree with your solution. It is your IP that will be banned by Spamhaus for client's illegal actions or marked as suspicious by Netcraft or other scamfighting authority. Neglecting possible fraud at order stage is much easier than dealing with consequences afterwards. Keep on the good work and may there be less fraudster clients for all of us!

Just call it an occupational hazard. Cancel it and Move on. We face that type of thing many times. It's great you know when to tell a fake.

We have some of those orders, and actually they used different e-mail addresses, but almost the same names, with the same questions in different tickets. Very very weird from them.

May this just duplication and mistake by customer. If I were you, i will accept the first order

both orders cancelled as explained. if it was genuine then the client would have contacted asking why the order was cancelled/marked fraud.

the details of first order ( address etc. were correct) and passed maxmind fraud checks, but seconds later the second order was send for the same server but with fake details, which naturally failed. a difference proxy server was used, so i think the buyer hoped that both orders would get through.

Just carious, is there an alternative to maxmind?

I think you can setup your own fraud check something like this:

1. Check if the IP is coming from proxy & dedicated server VPS (maybe hacked).
2. Check if country is on the fraud list.
3. Check if IP is blacklisted for spam etc.
4. Check if the order country is the same as the IP country.
5. If is big order make a phone call.
6. For big orders ask for copy of ID etc.
7. If you are using WHMCS never setup automatically for creation
8. I'll check first login FTP (if the user is using FTP) and check if the country of IP (from order) is the same with FTP ip etc.

....and many many things...

So you can setup a antifraud system if you want and with time passing you can see a lot of nice information.

Regards

I agree with this, then after a while you will be able to tell fraud orders as they come in

his posts are strange

true. i cant understand why multiplecloud would tell me to accept the first order

I looked through several threads and his replies seem mindless and often almost off-topic, just as if he did not read through the whole thread and replied the last reply instead. Just to increase his post count. I would not take his advises into consideration.

i would not take his advise as if he did read the thread he would have noticed i cancelled the orders as i would say 100% they were from the same person.

i also reported him for post counting
