Hi

we have looked at your site and this is something we do not want to be associated with, so please remove any references to our business from the site www.aniceday.co.uk.

we will give you 48 hours to remove any references

so after 48 hours we noticed our link removed, so closed the ticket and banned this persons IP.

today 03/03/2012 i get a phonecall from this sites owner shouting abuse to why his IP has been banned from our servers and abuse to why we dont want any busines referred from them.

I blanked out the name of this person from the ticket replies, but if anyone wants me to name and shame this person i will if Art allows me too

^ Seriously, I don't find any issue?

Why do you want your link to be removed?

And then, what is his concern? Why he wants to put your link?

No excuse for abusive phone calls no matter what the circimstances. If a company doesn't want to be affilliated with another company than it is up to them.
I can't understand what they are so upset with?

we are very choosy to where links to our sites appear. his site is very poorly designed and is just full of ads,

we were pleasant explaining that we did not what our link on that site and asked them to remove the link, which looks like they did and then abusive phone calls about his IP banned on our servers.

if he just wanted to place a link to us on his site then why was he so uptight about us banning his IP on our servers unless he expected to try and spam our servers etc.
why abuse in a phone call rather than send an email (simply as he thinks its untraceable when he abuses us), but our number is a number from flextel directed to a mobile phone and all numbers are recorded along with calls)

Has anyone else noticed he has not even set up a title or meta tags for the site, so this would never get indexted by search engines.

also the comment made in the guestbook i suspect is self made by the owner.

I might be a little lost.

Is he a hosting client of yours?

If he is, and he placed a link to your site, then removed it, why did you ban his website/IP address? Did he actually break any TOS of service or did you act on just an assumption that he will spam your servers?

never heard of him before he sent me a support ticket though our pre-sales department.

I can name him on here if allowed incase anyone else comes across him, but dont want to do this without your permission although anyone doing a whois search http://whois.domaintools.com/aniceday.co.uk of the sites domain will see his name

All I can think of saying is, Have a nice day LOL!

That is kind of what I was thinking too. I see no need for people to get upset over something like this, it seems quite childish really. Are you sure the person you spoke with was an actual adult?

Exactly. I explained in a professional manner that i did not want my link on his site, kindly remove it. after the 48 hours i saw it was removed and then banned his IP from my server, so he could not contact me again or access any of my sites.

but to get an abusive telephone call because his IP was banned from my server (reported call to authorities) is childish as why is he upset that i have banned his IP from my server.

Are you sure the person you spoke with was an actual adult?

100% sure he was an adult.

to me he is a possible spammer, so i banned his IP. why else would he become abusive after i told him i did not want my site listed on his site.

I don't see any evidence at all that this person was abusive.
If the only abuse was via a telephone call you claim yourself that the call only came after you banned the IP address.

I still don't get why you banned the IP address just because someone wanted to post your link. They removed the link like you requested and yet you found it necessary to escalate the situation.

Just an outsider point of view. Clearly we don't have all of the details.

so he asks join my aff program, i give him instructions which he say he cany join unless he places an order, but then states he will post a link anyway (WHY, never heard of this person) i checked the site he was placing the link on and decided it was sometthing not appropriate to me associated with and asked for this to be removed and then i banned his IP and then noticed the link removed. this should of then been the end of the matter, so why would he telephone me abusing me because his IP has been banned on my servers. (why would he want access to any site on my server). my local police have all the details of his abusive phone calls and his tel. number.

Really? The police?
Did he threaten you?

been abusive other a telcommunication system in the UK is a police matter. i initially contacted my phone provider so they could bar his number from calling me again and they asked why and when i told them they stated they would need to check on the abuse call. a hour later a police officer arrived at my door in regards to this as my phone operator passed the abusive call to them.

Dam, the police always have their priorities wrong.

There in an hour for an abusive call, ten years when you get burgled or pretty much anything.

I don't know what that person's deal was, but in my opinion, the whole thing could have been prevented if proper affiliate program process was in place. Why not let people apply to become an affiliate first, then review those application and accept only those you find appropriate and in line with your marketing objectives? Instead of saying yes to people without asking to check their URL first.

This would have saved on the drama and on the police' time.

I am not the person to ask if you want to release someone's private details on a public forum. If it was me, I wasn't scammed and I didn't incur any damages, so I would not have released someone's information. To be honest, I'd rather hear the abusive phone call then know who that person was. That's way more entertaining.

i use the WHMCS aff system which is setup for active clients, so to use the aff program you would need to register with us, but no need to order anything.
also any aff withdrawls are made as a credit to clients accounts.
