I found a great free open source accounting program to keep track of bank accounts and yrou overall accounting needs. Check out www.gnucash.org

I was looking for a program I could keep track of expenses and also be able to reconcile bank accounts, like Quicken/Quickbooks but didn't want to spend any money if I didn't have too.

It runs on Mac OS X, Windows, Linux

Thanks for the link, Mark. I just took a look. What's with the 9 unstable versions since the last stable release? Let us know how this works out for you. :)

you know there are a lot of freeware accounting programs out there, hell I think the best one, mint.com just got bought up

Nice thanks, I'll have to check this out!

As far as I know, Mint.com was just personal finance software meant to help with your budgets as it itemizes every purchase you make into categories and recommends what you should be spending more/less on. I don't think it is really appropriate at the business level.

for free use, gnucash is quite good.
but if u r seriously wanted to do some accounting stuff, then i think u better spend some money and go for MYOB.

+1 For GNUCash from me. Using it not only for the company accounting, but also for other solution we provide offline. It is simple and very much user friendly.
