Spectro Cloud raises $100 million to solve a problem most AI spending ignores

Spectro Cloud has raised more than $100 million in a Series D round led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives’ Growth Equity arm, pushing the company’s total funding to $260 million, money aimed at a problem that gets far less attention than the GPUs everyone’s racing to buy.

AMD Ventures, Ericsson, LG Technology Ventures, and Maximus added strategic backing to the round alongside Goldman’s lead investment. Spectro Cloud pitches the idea that companies pouring billions into AI chips are missing the harder part: turning raw computing power into something actually usable in production, governed properly, secured, and running efficiently.

Its platform, PaletteAI, targets that gap directly, giving engineering teams one system to manage GPU clusters, AI infrastructure, and distributed inference across different environments and hardware vendors, rather than forcing them to stitch together separate tools for each piece.

“Silicon is the starting point for AI infrastructure, but software is what turns that infrastructure into business outcomes,” said Tenry Fu, Spectro Cloud’s CEO and co-founder. He pointed out that customers arrive at very different starting points: some are still modernizing decades-old systems, others are already running AI factories or building out sovereign cloud services, and PaletteAI gives all of them one consistent way to manage that sprawl without locking them into a single chipmaker or cloud provider.

Goldman’s Mike Reilly framed the investment around a broader industry bottleneck. “Infrastructure is becoming one of the largest bottlenecks to production AI adoption,” he said, adding that as AI workloads scale up, companies will need a consistent management layer to keep operations under control.

The company isn’t starting from zero. Spectro Cloud already counts T-Mobile, Airbus, and the US Air Force among its customers for infrastructure management, and it has helped some of them migrate tens of thousands of virtual machines during modernization projects. Yum! Brands uses the platform to run distributed operations across its restaurant locations. PaletteAI itself launched in October 2025 and has since picked up traction with enterprises and public sector organizations, along with the newer wave of neocloud and sovereign cloud providers trying to move quickly from selling raw compute to offering more sophisticated AI services.

Spectro Cloud plans to spend the new funding expanding PaletteAI’s capabilities, growing sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, and deepening partnerships across the hardware and systems integrator ecosystem.
