Platform.sh, a service based platform provider located in Paris, is planning to move on to a new level with a different identity. By the company will unveil itself anew as Upsun on September 23, 2025. This decision is symbolic of more than just the throwing off the old branding. It indicates a step to keep up with the speed of today’s digital transformation, where employees have to manage microservices, headless CMSs, and the increasing needs of AI projects.
SensioLabs started the company’s story in 2010, and it spun it out on its own in 2015. In the last 10 years, Platform.sh has become known for its services that can be recreated in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and OVH. Being free from large cloud companies gave it the opportunity to give its own name. Now, with the rebranding, the company is making an explicit statement about its future.
The company will not communicate the new name, and customers will not experience any changes in the service operations. Their projects, agreements, and support channels will remain the same. The changes, however, are focused on the pricing models. Upsun Fixed will keep the stable, flat-rate approach many enterprises depend on, while Upsun Flex will introduce a pay-as-you-go option designed for teams that prefer cost elasticity.
Beyond pricing, the company is sharpening its support for AI-powered applications. Upsun will include integrations for tools such as LangChain, TorchServe, and ClickHouse, giving engineering teams ways to handle large-scale models and complex data. Observability features aimed at tracking performance and model behavior show how the platform intends to bridge traditional software with modern AI development.
For developers and enterprises, the change to Upsun is more than cosmetic. It represents an attempt to carry forward the same stability and trust while presenting a clearer identity for future challenges. When the new name appears later this month, the foundation that customers rely on will remain the same, but the story told around it will point firmly toward the road ahead.
