OpenAI, Oracle build massive Texas data hub with 450,000 Nvidia GPUs, power AI ambitions

OpenAI and Oracle are scaling up their Stargate data center in Abilene, Texas, which will eventually host over 450,000 Nvidia GB200 GPUs, Oracle’s Larry Ellison announced at Oracle AI World. The 1.2GW facility—enough to power a city—will connect eight buildings into a single AI supercluster. The site underpins Oracle’s upcoming Zettascale10 supercomputer, designed to support OpenAI’s next-generation infrastructure and massive AI workloads.
