OpenAI builds new Stargate data center in Wisconsin to power AI expansion

OpenAI will build a massive Stargate data center cluster in Port Washington, Wisconsin, expanding its U.S. infrastructure for AI development. Partnering with Oracle and Vantage Data Centers, the company plans to power nearly a gigawatt of capacity while creating over 4,000 construction jobs. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the Lighthouse project integrates renewable energy and biodiversity efforts to support sustainable, large-scale computing growth.
