Namespace Labs lands $42 million to build compute that keeps up with AI coding

Zurich-founded Namespace Labs has secured $42 million in Series B funding led by Scale Venture Partners, aiming to give developers compute infrastructure that matches the pace of modern software work. NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital and Susa Ventures also joined, and the round arrives just seven months after the company’s Series A, bringing total funding to $65 million.

Hugo Santos, a former Google engineer, founded Namespace in 2022. The company runs a specialized compute stack for AI agents, developer tools, continuous integration, container builds and testing, so engineers can move through the software lifecycle without waiting on slow infrastructure.

The timing reflects how much coding has changed. As AI agents take on more programming tasks, release cycles keep shrinking, and many teams now ship small changes daily or weekly instead of bundling large updates. Google Cloud’s 2025 DORA Report found that 16.2 percent of respondents deploy on demand, while 6.5 percent deploy between hourly and daily and 21.9 percent deploy between daily and weekly.

That pace creates constant demand for compute that can build, validate, test and deploy without sacrificing quality. Generic cloud virtual machines can handle durability, yet they rarely suit developer workflows. Teams must configure and monitor them constantly, and providers often price them for enterprise scale rather than for individual developers. In response, Namespace built its cloud around ephemeral storage, high-speed networking and cache support.

Mac infrastructure is a second focus. More applications now target macOS and Apple hardware, including iPhone and MacBook software, yet many infrastructure providers skip Mac entirely. As a result, developers building for iOS or macOS often have to turn to specialized vendors. Namespace supports several operating system versions, including Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe and Golden Gate, with up to 12 virtual CPUs and 56 gigabytes of memory.

The company says the new money will go toward expanding its data centers, including its fleet of Mac hardware. Namespace already supports build and test environments across Mac, Windows and Linux, so the expansion should widen capacity across all three.
