HoganHost-owned ZuumHost launches its cheapest .com deal yet

Most Nigerian entrepreneurs still run their businesses out of an Instagram bio. ZuumHost is betting a cheap way to escape that will actually move the needle. The Nigerian web hosting company just rolled out a ₦8,000 (roughly $6) annual .com registration offer, undercutting typical domain pricing and positioning itself as the budget option for individuals, startups and small businesses.

The offer bundles in free DNS management and Whois protection, features that normally cost extra. DNS management lets domain owners control how their site connects to email and other services, while Whois protection limits how much registration information shows up in public lookups, where the relevant registry supports it. For entrepreneurs without technical backgrounds, that combination removes a layer of setup most people don’t think about until something breaks.

The timing isn’t random. ZuumHost became a subsidiary of HoganHost after an acquisition that closed April 1, 2026. Rather than folding ZuumHost into its own brand, HoganHost kept it running independently while giving it access to shared infrastructure and technical resources. Joseph Effiok Hogan, HoganHost’s CEO, took over as ZuumHost’s Chairman and CEO, and Atim Hogan became Vice Chairman.

That acquisition fits into something larger. HoganHost has been building out its domain portfolio across African markets and picking up international accreditations, part of a broader push toward African digital infrastructure. ZuumHost’s low-cost .com offer looks like one piece of that strategy: get more businesses onto owned domains, then keep them inside the same ecosystem for hosting, reseller services and web design as they grow.

The pitch matters because plenty of Nigerian businesses start on social platforms and never leave. Instagram or WhatsApp can bring in customers, but neither gives a business control over its own digital identity, no branded email, no independent website, no real ownership. An annual fee under ₦10,000 (under $7) removes one of the more common excuses for staying put.
