Genesys has reported first quarter results for fiscal year 2027 that reflect something the customer experience industry has been anticipating for a while. Enterprise AI adoption is no longer sitting in pilot programs. Organizations are committing to it at scale, and the numbers behind Genesys Cloud this quarter make that shift fairly visible.
Annual recurring revenue for Genesys Cloud reached $2.8 billion during the quarter, representing growth of nearly 35% year over year. Net revenue retention exceeded 120%, which means existing customers are not just staying but consistently spending more as they expand how they use the platform. Nearly 45% of Genesys Cloud revenue now comes from outside North America, reflecting demand that has spread well beyond its home market.
The customer examples from the quarter illustrate what that adoption actually looks like in practice. Utility Warehouse, a UK multi-service utility provider, deployed AI-powered virtual agents in three weeks and doubled its containment rates while cutting service costs. Carglass, which handles vehicle glass repair, answered 14% more customer calls, reduced repeat contacts by 42%, and lifted outbound campaign reach by 13% after unifying its digital channels with AI and automation. Electrolux, the home appliance manufacturer, achieved a 47-point gain in customer sentiment while cutting overall technology costs by 70% by consolidating voice, digital, and AI into a single platform.
Those results carry a common thread. The measurable outcomes are not coming from AI experiments running alongside existing systems. They come from replacing fragmented setups with unified platforms where AI handles real operational work rather than supplementing it.
Tony Bates, chairman and CEO of Genesys, framed the quarter in terms of that transition. “AI is moving from experimentation to enterprise scale,” he said, noting that organizations need platforms capable of orchestrating customer experiences across the entire business rather than just individual touchpoints.
More than 7,000 organizations worldwide now run on Genesys Cloud. The platform also picked up recognition from G2’s 2026 Best Software Awards for both Best Agentic AI Software and Best Customer Service Software, alongside workplace honors across Spain, Germany, the UK, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
For a market that spent several years talking about AI’s potential in customer experience, this quarter suggests the conversation has moved decisively toward execution.
