Gallagher Security is bringing a cloud-based visitor management platform to Australia, and it’s choosing a fairly public stage to introduce it: an interactive display at the Security Exhibition and Conference in Sydney, the country’s largest security industry event.
The product runs on Kenai, a cloud platform that bundles visitor management, employee onboarding, compliance tracking, and workplace access into one system. Gallagher designed it to work alongside its existing Command Centre software, so instead of running on-premise systems that only talk to each other through manual workarounds, the whole workflow lives in the cloud and updates in real time. The pitch, in short, is straightforward: plenty of workplaces still handle visitor sign-ins, contractor onboarding, and compliance checks across separate, disconnected tools, and Kenai aims to pull all of that into a single cloud-hosted interface instead.
This move also marks a step beyond Gallagher’s traditional territory of access control and perimeter security. It fits a wider shift happening across the industry, too, as physical security companies increasingly move core workplace functions off local servers and into cloud platforms that can be managed and updated remotely.
Craig Schutte, Gallagher’s Executive Vice President for APAC and IMEA, framed the Sydney event as a chance to connect directly with buyers and partners. Meanwhile, Kenai’s co-founder and CEO, Rob Salzwedel, will appear alongside Gallagher’s team for what marks the cloud platform’s first formal appearance at an Australian industry event. Gallagher holds exclusive global distribution rights for Kenai, which gives it a direct path into its existing customer base and partner network here.
The cloud-based launch isn’t happening in isolation, either. Gallagher is also showing updates across its broader portfolio, including Command Centre v9.50, the full release of AccessNow, its F5 and F6 Fence Controllers, and OneLink. By placing a cloud platform like Kenai alongside those tools, the company signals a plan to tie front-of-house visitor workflows more tightly to its existing access control systems, rather than treating cloud-based visitor management as a standalone add-on.
Gallagher’s leadership is showing up in force for the rollout, too. CEO Mark Junge and Chief Product Officer Josh Arnold will both join the Australian team on site. So for a company that built its business on hardware and access control, this Sydney launch will show whether its channel partners can carry a cloud-first product just as well as a physical one.
