Delhi agency sees shift as businesses trade managed WordPress hosting for optimized VPS

A growing number of businesses are rethinking how they host their WordPress sites, and a digital agency in Delhi NCR says the change is producing measurable results. Gatilab, a WordPress focused firm, reports that clients moving from managed WordPress hosting to optimized VPS infrastructure have reduced hosting costs by 60 to 80 percent while also improving site speed.

According to the agency, the savings stem from a narrowing gap between premium managed hosting packages and what modern virtual private servers can deliver at lower cost. Features such as automated backups, SSL certificates, malware scanning, and staging environments once justified monthly fees ranging from 30 to 100 dollars per site. However, today many of these capabilities are available through open source tools, control panels, and low cost integrations that run efficiently on a properly configured VPS.

Gatilab says it has migrated dozens of sites over the past year, including projects for SaaS providers, enterprise technology firms, and content publishers. In internal performance tests, the agency recorded average load times between 0.7 and 0.9 seconds after migration. Previously, the same sites loaded in roughly 1.8 to 2.4 seconds. The agency attributes the gains to dedicated server resources, Redis object caching, tuned MariaDB databases, and structured CDN deployment.

Founder Gaurav Tiwari, a long time WordPress contributor, argues that the managed hosting model addressed real technical barriers a decade ago. At that time, few users could configure servers securely. Now, he notes, modern control panels and mature caching tools reduce that complexity. Thus, businesses can operate leaner infrastructures without compromising on dependability, thanks to the basic technical oversight.

Normally, the migration process is spread out over three to five days, where servers are set up, DNS is adjusted, database configuration is optimized, and post-migration tests are conducted. Gatilab also monitors each site for weeks.

While they recognize that organizations that require rigid service level agreements may still wish to utilize managed hosting, they also identify a larger phenomenon that is currently playing out. With costs of WordPress hosting increasing and service level requirements becoming more exacting, small to mid-sized businesses are beginning to reassess whether these high-level WordPress plans are really reflective of current technology realities.
