Bluehost has named Salim Ali as Chief Marketing Officer and Wesley Pua as Chief Financial Officer, rounding out a series of executive changes that began earlier this year with the appointment of CEO Sachin Puri.
The company, best known for its hosting and small business services, is in the middle of a shift toward broader SaaS offerings. That shift is happening at the same time artificial intelligence is becoming a key factor in how companies approach their digital strategies.
Ali joins after senior roles at Gupshup AI and WordPress VIP. Over his career, he has built marketing operations at technology firms and worked closely with developers and enterprise clients. At Bluehost, he will take responsibility for global marketing strategy and the direction of the brand as the company adapts to an AI-driven market.
Pua arrives with more than 20 years of financial leadership experience in eCommerce and SaaS organizations. At Udemy, he played a role in preparing the company for its IPO. His background also includes positions at Fabric and other digital businesses. He will now focus on building financial discipline, managing operational growth, and supporting new investment priorities.
Industry watchers say these appointments reflect a wider reality across the hosting and SaaS market. Industry demands that providers deliver more than just uptime and support. Customers want integrated services, smarter tools, and clear value, and many view executives with deep expertise in finance and marketing as critical to steering that transition.
Together, Puri, Ali, and Pua bring experience across leadership, marketing, and financial management. The challenge for Bluehost will be translating this new leadership strength into practical outcomes for its global base of small and mid-sized business customers.
