Whmcs vs Hostbill

I would prefer to use WHMCS. I am using this for our business from 5+ years and no complain. They always release updates on a regular basis and resolve all reported bugs. I have used HostBill at the first time, but I did not like their UI/UX and they have lots of bugs. Also, HostBill pricing model is totally different. You need to pay a huge amount upfront which is not startup friendly. Also, HostBill is mostly used by Data Centers for selling servers. The majority of web hosting providers are using WHMCS.

  • Integration with WHMCS helps business oversee client management, billing, and support services
  • Integration with HostBill is a holistic business automation solution
  • Both WHMCS and HostBIll we can choose themes, plugins, and various modules that help more attractive
  • WHMCS with WordPress framework is easy while I need small support to HostBill with WordPress Framework configuration

We prefer WHMCS as it can be used with more services, in addition if you are able to develop a whmcs module you can do anything.

As a former end user of Hostbill once, it was too buggy and sluggish. I would not recommend Hostbill ever.

If you are looking for something different in both, you should definitely use wisecp.

If you just want to choose between the two, I think hostbill is difficult and expensive to use.

Hostbill is good. It allows for the control of many different clouds and systems. However, because of the vast amounts of things it can do, it's not as straight forward as WHMCS.
I prefer hostbill, but probably as that's what I'm most comfortable with, and as there is no ongoing costs for me, I'm probably gonna continue using it.

If i had to choose between those two, i would probably opt for host-bill.

If you are going to broaden your search/critera, then i would also add blesta to the mix.
None of them are perfect.
however if you can make a good/clear case for a certain change, then he people at blesta appear to be listening...

cPanel are cutting off their own hand; they need to slow down with these price hikes to all of their products.

So are WHMCS, they are the same people but they did it 10 x worse with WHMCS, new pricing below.
Business 1,000 Up to 1,000 clients $44.95/mo.
Business 2,500 Up to 2,500 clients $99.95/mo.
Business 5,000 Up to 5,000 clients $174.95/mo.
Business 10,000 Up to 10,000 clients $299.95/mo.
Business 50,000 Up to 50,000 clients $849.95/mo.
Business 100,000 Up to 100,000 clients $999.95/mo.
Business Unlimited $1,299.95/mo.

you need to look at it as cost per account

i.e. you have 100,000 clients (each with 1 account) so it is $999.95 div by 100,000 =$0.0099 per account per month.
then 100,000 clients each paying you an average of $15 per mth so 100,000 x $15 = $1.5 million per mth
and you argue about paying $1000 a month for the client management system.

all hostbill prices are lifetime (one-time), it all depends on how many support tickets are included and feature/apps

Emphasis should have been on "when" as I bought mine more than 10 years ago, you could get a license for £15/month or £300 lifetime, which was less than a year of WHMCS.

Yes, no idea why hostbill moved away from monthly licences, but at least now they don't seem to changing their prices every week like they used to

whmcs is no longer usable. I have a Whmcs lifetime license, but I will leave the hosting industry completely, so I will sell my license.
