Ditched Paypal.. Need Reliable and Accessible Proccessor

You would not believe what happened at Paypal but basically they are saying that my SSN is not "matching" with my birth and asking for everything "including the kitchen sink" in proofs that my SSN and birth details are what they are..

All of that JUST to UPDATE my mere EMAIL address! Oh to make matters worst I just has to "empty" the account as I could not close it since the support person left a "case" reporting that the SSN needing to be "proved".

Well if my account gets hacked I will be sure to "give" Paypal a lovely lawsuit about my remaining personal being comprised. Top that with phone support being the ONLY practical support method. I figure I best ditching them and finding a processor that keeps on kicking and have a serious email support option.

/end of rant

Anyways can anyone suggest any processors that..
  1. Provides main support via emails and/or online ticketing. Supportive enough that I DON"T need to depend someone to dial in for me.
  2. None of this Paypal's like "drama"
  3. Trust worthily and easy enough for anyone willing to pay via Guest like setting/sign up for an account to pay for hosting services despite not offering Paypal
  4. Reasonable Fees

Thanks you in advance.

Wowza, sorry to hear you have to go through such a headache. I've had a similar account verification issue with Enom, of all companies. Eventually proved my identity and then wrote them a letter basically saying "thanks, but no thanks", and that their lack of trust in me caused me to have a lack of trust in them.

Back to your question. Unfortunately no direct experience with any similar payment processor, but if I were to make the move, I would have chosen one of these:

https://stripe.com
https://www.skrill.com
https://www.braintreepayments.com

As I look around, these three outfits keep trending. I assume any of them would go the extra mile to retain clients and make them happy. Anything to win the business over.

Cool, I sent an email to Stripe addressing my needs. I hope to "hear" back from them soon.

I am having a hard time finding charges for a provider using Skrill so I think I will pass them.

BrainTree is powered by Paypal so yes..

Thanks you for for the list of the common alternatives at any rates.

I don't think you'll have an issue with Stripe getting back to you. I recently contacted them and three different people wrote me back offering to help.

Awesome nice to hear. I will be glad they will most likely get a hold of me soon enough.

Thanks you for sharing your most recent Stripe's support servicing.

Yeah I've said this many times, Stripe are a very friendly. A human will respond back to you soon :).

They also have an IRC on their website which you can use to help you integrate your site etc

How is their typical reply times for first contacts? I contacted them about 16 hours ago and still waiting on them.

stripe.com is the best alternative you have.

They want government issued ID upfront..

What options do I have that doesn't require anything more than entering the date right on the interface at sign up and to maintain the account?

I want something that does not require me to send craps via uploading and/or snail mailing these craps in.

So, you want something that breaks the law. Good luck with that.
Give paypal a call (use skype if you have to), they'll work with you on the problem

Excuse me but where did I said I would be breaking the law?

And why I would want to do anything regarding Paypal if I am sourcing another processor on another main note of primary support being available through emails?

Regulations require proper identification when doing something like this. This is for consumer and business protection.

So does ordering and staying with providers. However at least with the case of Paypal they are unwillingly able to accept my words.

Whereas hosting providers generally will find other methods of making sure, you are the person that should be rendered the servicing. Most will state in the TOS however when I use even those ones they ALMOST always willing to work with me to get the servicing without their "fraud protection" getting into my ways.

I solely want a processor that are able to do the same for me and ONLY asks for further verification for legitimate reasoning. Getting xks in payments? Sure I get it. But changing a mere email address? Yea not so much..

I personally use braintree and love them. Unfortunately its now owned by paypal, but it looks like they run things differently, and I think you should be fine.

Wow, are you serious? I didn't know that.
I don't have anything against PayPal (even though I had some issues I didn't like), but Braintree does seem like they are running it as a completely separate ship.

Yes they clearly marked that "powered by Paypal" or something like that at the bottom of the site the last time I checked awhile back. I will look at tomorrow or something since these two posts are indeed stating that it seems to be operated much differently than the parent Paypal company.

Because of money laundering and terrorism financing you will hardly get a getaway that will not finally ask you for proof of ID. May I out of curiosity ask why you dont want to prove your Identity?

Because it makes no sense to me for LOW annual processing (>1K).

Why would I want to prove identity if the processor has not done any significant processing (or even in the case of Stripe NONE)??

I feel just they draw their lines too close to demand such identifications.

Just for the records I NEVER has these issues with ordering full blown dedicated servers from a couple of reputable providers. In most cases they just splits out the machine on demand.

As providers we definitely never ask clients to verify BUT Its a statutory requirement in most states for the geteways to have verifiable Identity so their hands may also be tied by their regulator.
