How can we make our own Registrar

Dear friend any body can tell me how can we make our own domain Registrar. I am not talking about Domain Reseller plan I am talking about how can we make our own domain registrar like godaddy and other main Registrar.

All the necessary steps to become a registrar are on the ICANN site. 😀

And becoming a domain registrar is not that easy. You need a handsome non refundable amount to deposit as fee.

I believe ENOM has a registrar-in-a-box solution where they do all the work and provide all the infrastructure for you to get started. I remember hearing somewhere it was about $100,000.

If you want your own registrar you need lot of investment for this purpose. What type of register you want. Dedicated, reseller or any other.

Every one have different prices and different investment require.

😉 better get a good marketing plan ready before you apply...

And be aware, that even if you have the fees for the renewal, they can revoke your certificate at any time and you can no longer resell domains 🙂 I've seen quite a few Registrars over the years go down this path and find their ability to register and/or renew domains revoked a year or two later.

Nobody's saying that it can't be done, but likely it's not a path that you want to experiment with. Definitely if you're looking for advise on a forum on how to go about it, you probably don't have the manpower or infrastructure to handle this kind of task. It's nothing against you. The odds are stacked very high against you that's all.

Make sure you have $50k or so in available funds, then employ an ICANN accreditation specialist to guide you through the years of paperwork, forms, applications, discussions, negotiations, meetings, software designs, epp implementations ....
