Your very first paid host?

Do you still recall what your very first pay host was, and do you remember how well it worked for you? Mine was a small pay host that a friend had set up, and gave me a pretty sweet deal on the prices. Unfortunately, this same host went out of business a year or so later. But hey, it was great while it lasted!

My very first PAID hosting was from webhosting.com

I made no homework when it came to finding a host, my logic was different: I just thought that whoever own this domain must know a thing or two about hosting.

It was expensive (around $25/mo) for basic package with limited bandwidth, no Cpanel (proprietary control panel), but it was a serious company as I received all the support I needed at the time. I stayed with them for about 2 years and then moved on to biggest disappointing experiences with other hosting providers. :)

Mine was a friend in the business well before I got into it myself. i think its around the time I was still thinking about the idea of getting my feet wet so to say. :D Its come a long way and yes even though a friend I still paid my bills. I do not like hand outs.

For most people always the first host will be horrible once you start learning we will think like that the same feeling i have for my first host

My first host (many years ago) was Aplus.net. They were fine for my purposes at the time. Nothing special, but it got the job done. Looking back though (and I think this wasn't just characteristic of Aplus, but the industry in general) the plans were very limiting and didn't allow much room for growth within the plans.

First paid web host was Webcom, manymanymany years ago (back in the mid-90s, long before they were bought by Verio.) I had one of their early reseller plans: it was primitive (multidomain hosting, no separate control panels, allowed to resell the disk space), but it let me provide basic hosting to my freelance design clients. I actually visited Webcom's office in Soquel, CA - I was living there at the time, so they were local to me.

Mine was hostonce.com. They are HORRIBLE absolutely horrible.

Pretty ironic name then, wouldn't you say?

People try them once, and then move on to a much better host not long after. This is the first time I have heard about them, but the name is pretty funny anyway.

killerhosting.info

first time i have owned a site my self lol discount price offered by the owner was a good thing and i had lil risk when getting an accont to auto account thing so had to be set up by there support because they verify your phone number in order to make sure your not commiting lying in the info.

but over all fast page loads and good support don't think i'll ever swich.

My first paid hosting was tornadogaming they thought me everything about hosting I paid a dollar for 3gb disk 50gb bandw and it was great I left because owner became a douch....

Mine first such host was the planet, got a cheap server and it works very good. has some troubles until I got Cpanel installed.
