At first its hard to get a saltwater tank setup because you have to cycle your water before adding fish. Usually people are in a hurry and put fish right in. Doing partial water changes every two weeks for the first 3 months is a must. But its worth it once you get it running smoothly. I havent did any water change in about a month and a half and will be doing one this week just to be safe. All my levels are good but I am a better safe then sorry type guy.
The hobby is more of a sit and watch type thing. To me the fun is when you add new things such as live rock, starfish, fish and other wierd things.
Right now my tank is all aggressive and consists of
Picasso Trigger http://www.mrtenterprises.co.uk/pictures/Fish_closeup.jpg
Blue Jaw Trigger http://www.petsolutions.com/Images/100/141100.jpg
Porcupine Puffer http://www.reefnut.com/Images/Porky.jpg
Lionfish - Venomous http://www.islandream.com/komodo/lion01.jpg
Plus a bunch of snails & crabs.
Here is a pic of my setup. http://www.resellersedge.com/tank.jpg
The water is a little cloudy as I have just added 25 lbs of rock and moved the old around. :)

Never thought having fish would be such a tedious task and maintenance. But your setup is very impressive indeed.
That Porcupine Puffer is surely a little scary... :)

Believe it or not that Puffer is the nicest of them all. He even lets me pet him. The picasso trigger and the lionfish are the ones to worry about. I was poking at my starfish one day to see if it was alive because it has not moved for a while and the trigger came up to take a bite at my finger. I dropped to my knees instantly! That was enough to make a grown man cry.
Now, the lionfish, if he gets you, your going to the emergency room to get drugs because the amount of venom those fish put out is rediculous. I have yet to get stung by it.
At one time I did get stung when I had jelleyfish in my tank. Not the normal size jelley but enough to get me to notice it stung me and that it didnt want me around it any more. It was about the sting of a bee.

Wonderful pictures DavidL.

As a child, I played with a small jellyfish. I don't recall it stinging me. I was surprised a while back when I learned they can be quite dangerous.

I have had many aquariums over the years.
Currently I have 2 freshwater aquariums.
I love the tropical fish which is why I took up diving.

Salt water aquariums are more labour intensive. PH and salt content have to be monitored always.

As most of you know my passion is cooking though. That is why my site is, in conjunction with Vito, http://www.eskillet.com/forum

I have my aquarium and parrots in my office at home. Birds all over the house, including a bluejay that we rescued at about 3 days old and hand fed. He's a real treat, follows you around the house and sits on my desk, interfering with the keyboard. Then there's the dogs and ponds (if the ice ever melts) and lizards.

Just had a quick peak and bookmarked for later browsing but found a recipe for welsh rarebit, which I haven't had since I was a kid.

Right now my current passion, hobby and addiction* is poker. I put the asteric cus im not sure if you would call it addicted, I have made actually a couple thousand, and obviously have not lost anything. I also play hockey, golf and tennis. I also like starting my own business and like running HostInertia. Thats about it for now I guess.

It's kind of under construction at the moment.
We had a huge problem with phpBB and spam so I upgraded to SMF.

Just a matter of customizing now.

Glad you found a recipe you liked.

I have birds as well. & A pond out front with gold fish.
A umbrella cockatoo & a Quaker
While im at it, I also have 2 chihuahuas and a 4 foot iguana :)
Next purchase I have been thinking strongly about is a squirrel monkey.

I guess I am the only one who has all this personal space and no pets to share it with. This summer I will try to get myself a dog. My girlfriend has two amazing yorkies, and I fell in love with those. So I am in between a Yorkie, a Beagle or a Spaniel (English, Spanish or Springer).

My personal site is, I guess, mostly about the "disease" that disables me and how the various symptoms affect me on a day to day basis. I set it up initially back in 97 ... when there were lots of sites about how it affects women but could find no sites about how it affects men. Or that men actually could get it. But I did include some personal info pages & a photo album with my family and a few of my friends in it.

www.merlinean.com

I just added GoogleAds & GoogleSearch to the site ... in an effort to maybe generate a wee bit of extra income. Disability pension isn't going as far as I need it to most months these days :) But ... if this past month (my first month with Google) is any indication ... I figure I should get my first cheque from them in maybe about 2 years hahahahaha :)
