Would you say that Yahoo! Directory listings are worth $300 or would that be a waste of money?

In my opinion, I think it's a waste of money. Google and Ask.com are the 2 largest search engines. I don't know exact numbers, but I would say that the number of people that use Yahoo as a search tool is very small compared to Google or Ask.
Also, asking $300 just to place a link in their directory is insane! I hate Yahoo :mad:
 
Most probably yes. I don't see Yahoo! Directory being popular. I assume many users use it as a last resort if they can't find a specific Website that they can't remember.
 
What if you end up on the 14th page on the Web Site Hosting category? How worthy of a link can that be?

Another bit is that you pay the $300 but there's no guarantee your site will be listed. You also have to pay $300 per year to maintain your listing there.

I would say there are safer and more targetted places to spend $300, and they should the focus of your search, especially if that's a relatively big chunck of your advertising budget.
