I am about to sign up for another reseller account, I currently have Linux webhosting and I am thinking of going for windows.
Are there any advantages with windows, other than it allowing asp and access databases, the extra price i know is because microsoft charge more for their licences but is it worth the extra?

Windows is a powerful operating system.

Development in windows is very faster + you have very good support for SQL Server as back-end on the windows server.

Cold fusion is advantage on windows.
And all of the best ASP.NET ...

Go for it.. there is a lot demand of windows...

I'd say go with the OS that you know the most about and have the most experience with.

Offtopic: Nice slogan Jim, but you can't have my domain... businessclasshosting.com LOL ;) Or my no. 1 google listing come to think of it!! <a href='http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=business+class+hosting' target='_blank'>http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=na...s+class+hosting</a>

If you are resellering webhosting to your clients then you should have both linux and windows hosting. Its true that you might be a php developer and preffer linux but windows can also support most tools that linux can support, including php, perl and other features.

Additionally some of your clients might also preffer windows rather than linux or unix. So there are two major advanges for going into windows, you broaden your service platform and you get the cool advantages of windows development.
