windows host

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a web host to run my ASP sites.

My web host (stargate.com) moved it's data center in October, and my sites wound up being down for 2 weeks. Now I have issues every other day, and I am really fed up with it all.

I want a web host that can deliver reliability, however, these are not money making sites, so I don't want to break the bank. I don't need tons of frills, just something that runs ASP. I need about 200MB storage and less than 1 Gb a month transfer.

Also, I read a lot on here about godaddy.com and eNom.com, with regards to registering domain names. I just had my web host take care of it before, but seeing that I just paid them to renew and now I am changing my web host, I am out that money. I'd rather have my registrar and web host have nothing to do with each other now, so that when I am fed up with a host, I can just point my domain name to another web host, and not be out the registration money for that year.

My question is, how do you point your domain name at another host when the registrar is seperate? Do they come with a control panel, and if the do, do I just point it at for example 255.2555.255.255/mywebsite/ ?

thanks for any help.

recommendations on hosts, and an explanation on the process of registering domain names at someone like godaddy and getting them to update their DNS to point to my web host.

Well, I haven't used any ASP hosts, so I won't qualify to share experience. I will, however suggest http://www.discountasp.net company as I've heard many good reviews about it.

As for your domain business, I sugegst you do it with GoDaddy.com - its truly one of the best registrars out there with outstanding customer support. Once you register a domain name, you simply get a username and password you use to log in into your domain's control panel, where you can manage domain's nameservers yourself. Its very easy.

If you have any questions, we're here to help! Good luck,

Your post said taht you can host him and that he could drop you the line if he wanted your services. That is advertising.
