Hey,
I just wanted to know why so many hosts dont allow adult sites?
I know some datacentres dont allow adult sites to be hosted, but why do they also have this in their terms?

I dont really see a reason for it in a business sense

Is there something Im not thinking about for this?

Most people just don't won't to mess with that arena. It may come down to being worried about legal issues or even just one's morals may not allow for it.

I don't allow it for moral issues, I will do all I can to make it harder for pedophiles and the like to find a hole to exchange their kind of smut, not to mention those sites can usually eat at your resources and they usually should be running on their own servers not a shared server.
Then you have the issue of making sure those sites are monitored or you run the risk of loosing your business, fines etc if illegal things are found to be on your servers.
Thanks but I don't need the money that bad

I don't think a standard shared server would be ok for that. If you want to host non-adult and adult then the contect should not mix.

Also, I don't alow it because my credit card process does not allow that type of business.

But, I host a lot of family/christian sites so puting adult content on the server would not be cool.

Also, adult sites uses a lot more resources then non adult sites.

Im not talking about anything to do with paedophiles, I mean legal adult sites.

I didnt know CC processors have limits on that
How do they know what type of sites your hosting though?
They wouldnt take their time to check anyway
Or maybe thats why support is so slow with the companies out there.....

I guess that would be my point, many that have been busted I am sure started off with legal sites, granted the majority of it stays underground but not all and I personally would go insane trying to monitor those sites to be sure they stayed clean. Be kind of hard to do if you can't stand seeing any of it. I just have major problems with any business that preys on the addictions of others.
