Who would you hire for your business today?

I am curious, what skillset/specialty are you missing that you think your business can really take advantage of today?

If you could hire one person (irrelevant of the salary amount), what kind of specialst would that be? Would it be a support technician? A system administrator? A full stack developer? A sales representative? A SEO professional? A marketing manager? A PR executive? A business development resource?

Obviously there are dozens of specialists out there. Who would you invest in today?

Hi,

I would prefer being safe on this, and hire a service who will provide this service to me rather than hiring someone directly on a payroll...

For a webhosting company, these are all necessary things:
1) System Administrator for a strong technical consultant.
2) Support technician for communicating and resolving issues to certain extent.
3) An SEO and online marketing personnel to built business relationships..
4) A developer to resolve or develop websites on demand..

I'll hire someone who is SEO specialist with marketing management.
In the world of internet this two things is very important. How much great content you have or how much great server you have , that's really doesn't matter. But how much you do SEO and marketing that's obviously matters.
Take a example, HostGator or any other EIG hosting. There is thousands of bad reviews of them still they are the popular and number 1 web hosting brand, how much you hate them but you have to agree with this bitter truth.

I feel like #1 person my company currently needs would be sales manager, you might be providing perfect product for your niche, but you need a professional with certain skill set to deliver it to your costumers.

For me, there's just one person I would want;

A grunt - someone to do the mundane copy/paste and write my notes the way I want them, then deliver to client.

It sounds like a simple task, but it can be one of the most time-consuming tasks, and it's something I don't want to do. But finding someone to do it the way I want - that's always a challenge!

A Sales Manager and Social Media Manager

As I am not a great Sales Guy (although done OK in the last 11 years) and i never have time to update my facebook or twitter pages for my business

Same as you easyhost Media,

Sales Manager and Social Media Manager

Also accounts -

We are ok with support, however accounts - chasing payments, and the social side never get round to it.

Being strictly PAYG means I'm not worried about payment collection, but a Sales and Social Media Manager would be good as we could always do with more signups. I'd love to be delivering more servers per month than we are currently.

I would also second this view.

When it comes to support I prefer to handle that myself as no one else can match my passion and dedication for my business than me.

I would hire just one person, to be honest, but I have a feeling he's a bit higher than one can afford.. That'd be mr. lance crosby :)

In past I made mistakes to always hire support staff, today I think it is better to hire marketing managers rather than support staff.

I'm kind of thinking along the same lines, but my choice would be Mr. Brian Matthews. He's an amazing serial entrepreneur.

A "sales guy". Definitely a sales manager that go to local markets sale our services. We always had very good results in going to local market and sale CCTV, Web design, Web Hosting, and associated services.

I think for me i'd need a sales rep. or maybe a support rep. But someone to advertise in places for my company would be good. Investing a way to gain more customers for myself would of great interest so it could take time of my hands advertising and sales support for customers.
