WHMCS v4 - Session IP Checking prevents iPhone access over Cellular

I used to be able to use my iPhone to work in WHMCS while on the go but now I can't since on 3G (cellular data) my IP changes every 15 to 30 seconds which boots me back to the log in screen.

I already have the "Mobile Edition" which does allow me to still answer tickets however I cannot generate invoices, view orders, and do many of the other things I have to do even when I'm not sitting at my desk.

I've submitted a thread such as this twice to the Feature Request section of the WHMCS forums now and both times the thread was deleted without notice - my only guess is that perhaps the WHMCS team wants to push users to buy the Mobile edition rather than simply building in this setting. I would have no qualms with this if the Mobile version of the software was as powerful as the full edition but unfortunately it's not.

I am not asking for WHMCS to disable session IP checking, but simply provide a setting in the general settings section of the configuration so that it can be disabled if desired.

HyperVM and Invision Power Board both implement this same security feature (Session IP Checking) however both of them also allow you to disable it. Out of all of the systems that I use via my iPhone WHMCS is now currently as of v4 the only one that I cannot use on the go which is frustrating.

At any rate, WHMCS decided to delete my thread on this twice so I'm posting this in some other locations to see if perhaps I am the only one bothered by this or if there are others out there that would be affected and would like to see this setting.

Thank you!

Matt contacted me directly and told me that this is going to be implemented. I'm not entirely sure why he didn't just respond to the thread I posted in the feature request section of their forums with this information and closed the thread.

Deleting my thread without notification/infraction/contact is what really got me going. I'm going to make sure this is clear:

1. I'm not trying to damage WHMCS, you will find that I very openly promote WHMCS every chance I get.
2. I'm not trying to bash WHMCS in this post but simply trying to gauge whether this is an issue for just me or many individuals.
3. Had WHMCS simply let me know why the thread was deleted, or done the easiest thing which is to respond to the thread and then close it - I wouldn't have felt the need to post it somewhere else.
4. WHMCS is great because they listen to their customer's feedback requests - just make sure you don't outright delete them when they are legitimate requests without at least letting the thread starter know why.

I head the exact complaint from one of our clients also :( A feature request made, but removing or closing the thread without any infraction. Not sure why. May be Matt wants to email support for that.

A great product !!!

The original thread of mine that was removed was reinstated, a response made and then it was closed. That is what should have happened to begin with (responding and closing it).

Is it possible to use a proxy? Could be one of the few legit uses of a proxy server I've seen... because of the nature of your use, I'd think about finding/creating a closed proxy that can be trusted.

Or better (but costs $) what about LogMeIn Ignition for iPhone: https://secure.logmein.com/products/ignition/iphone/Default.asp?lang=en
That gets you back to your pc in a relatively secure manner (better than an open proxy for sure), and then you can get to your server(s) from there. Not elegant, but workable I'd think.
