WHMCS & cPanel Combine Powers

Thanks. I've been waiting for the official announcement as well!

I do have mixed feelings about the partnership, but who knows, it could turn out for the best.. I hope. :shaky:

but the way matt words it

cPanel, Inc., will now have a financial stake in WHMCS Ltd.

this could just mean cPanel have bought shares in WHMCS Ltd. will we ever know, but as i was told last week by an inside source that the future of WHMCS is now secure, i am wondering that after the recent breach was WHMCS on the verge of folding.

I know 1 thing that they have not made a good option of releasing version 5.1.2 going off the issues appearing on their forum, i am pleased i decided not to upgrade as yet

What is everyone's view points now as far as service and where WHMCS will go from here?

well their are many assumptions appearing at http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?51690-WHMCS-amp-cPanel-Combine-Powers&p=236974#post236974 put personally i dont see much changing for now.

even if Matt as sold out to cPanel (assumption), you just need to look at Vauxhall, Opal, Asda and many more companies that have been bought out, have these changed i would say NO.

shortly after the attack the WHMCS nameservers were changed and pointed to cpanel servers, and then WHMCS started a major recruitment drive, so what can we read into this.

Both companies will greatly benefit.

cPanel has been trying to pull together a project team for over a year now to build a billing system. It had pretty much failed.

WHMCS needs another trusted name after their crazy hacking incident. Plus, cPanel is great at pushing out updates.

Many people have switched from WHMCS to other billing software. The hacking incident was a big disaster for WHMCS, hopefully cPanel partnership would help WHMCS to earn some good business in the near future.

I dont think that many switched. it was not a hack as such it was social engineering where a hostgator employee was duped into believing that matt was asking for the server login details.

We will know - WHMCS lts is a limited company - so a change of shareholder or director has to be filed at Companies House.

Nothing has changed at Companies House yet, no new shareholders or directors registered.

true, even a large financial injection would also show in their records at companies house, but i know that companies house are very slow at changing/amending records

Its always great when two popular providers combine powers. The end result is usually great! :) I hope they'll offer a more integrated solution in near future. A good news for webhosting companies.

I definitely think this is a good thing.

WHMCS will not have access to many more resources that they didnt to before which = much better WHMCS.

We will be seeing many changes soon.

- Daniel :)

I've seen this blog post. But what I'm curious about is, "Whats next?" What does combining powers actually mean? How will cPanel or WHMCS will be affected?
