hy i am starting new web hosting company i would like to know which one is the best and cheap out of two fantastico or softeculas?
thanks and advanced.

Now a days, a lot of people are preferring/opting for softaculous over fantastico. Softaculous offers more scripts compared to fantastico, to install absolutely free within few clicks. Softaculous is much more advanced than fantastico, and is faster in updates.

Softaculous looks better at the moment. However Fantastico might regain some positions if the come back with better organized and feature-rich software.

The cost may depend on the provider and the type of hosting you're after. Fantastico often comes for free.

In my experience, Fantastico lagged behind in updating for new software releases, which can potentially put sites at unnecessary hacking risks.

They're both the same to me, really. They do the same job - install scripts. If I had to pick one, it'd have to be Softaculous purely because it has more scripts.

Having used and offered Fantastico for 9 years, in 2010 we swapped completely to Softaculous and haven't looked back. Fantastico was very slow for updates (even critical patches) whereas Softaculous has an update within hours or a day of any major patches. I don't think Fantastico ever did cross the 50 script mark, but Softaculous is approaching nearly 200 scripts that can install.

Price shouldn't even be a concern as your clients will just eat up the ability to install so many scripts. We don't charge anything for the use of Softaculous on our shared hosting setups - it's been a pleasure and a breeze to use! A few license issues pop up from time to time when the systems don't sync correctly, but beyond that, it's been great to work with.

Yes, Softaculous has over come Fantastico although at one time Fanstastico was the only one such application to install handy applications with single.

I guess it is due to not having updated versions of applications. Out dated versions are always a big security risk for servers. On the other hand, Softaculous have updated versions.

At some point I was reading quite a few positive things about Installatron. I don't know how good they are these days, or how price competitive they are.
