Where to get cheapest COM domain name

i bought for 7 $ from Godaddy a .com , i don't know if they are the cheapest but i'm sure the price is good.

I purchased my website from GoDaddy and I do believe it was about $9.00 USD for my .com. And really $9.00 for a whole year is pretty incredible. I think all .com will be in that $7.00 to $10.00 price range. Even if you pay $10.00 thats less then $1.00 a month.
 
I believe godaddy, you can always normally find coupons that drop the price down, sometimes you can even find domain promos for $1.99

search google for "register.com domain promo" you can get a free domain with them for a year.

or actually search google for "$1.99 yahoo domain" but you have to be a new customer
 
Godaddy is good,however any Icann accreddit registrar is sufficient.
godaddy is a bit cheap then the pack,though.
 
Godaddy has a great marketing gimick;

$1.99 (plus $0.20 ICANN fee)

You MUST purchase a package also - this would be hosting or some other package in order to qualify for the $1.99 price. So really it's only $1.99 if you spend MORE money ;)
 
Conor, actually GoDaddy has recently run a promotional code that would allow .COM registration for around $3 (it was $2.95 or $2.99 - don't recall), with no requirement to purchase other service/product.

Too bad I was late for the parade, as usual. :)

But I do agree, GoDaddy has always been pretty smart at bundling services/products and pass on the so called domain fees "savings" to people like us. I guess with their minimal cost hosting plan priced at $4.99 you are not really saving if you add $1.99+0.20 extra.
 
Assuming you are patient enough, you can actually get some really good deals through auctions sometimes. Of course it usually depends on your luck to some extent, but I still feel that it's worth a try.
 
I wouldn't recommend you to economize on domains! It is better to pay $2 additional per a year and keep a domain with a reliable company!
