That these ads are somehow forced upon the users is a common perception. I don't see them as forced, as it is a well known fact that they will place those ads. What I do have a bit of beef with, is the notion of "free" hosting. Users are paying, just not with cash. It's essentially a barter.the forced ads
I was just wondering: how do free hosts make a living?
I mean, there are lots of them that make (little to no) money from ads they place, but that's not enough to even pay server rental, right?![]()
ok here are how SOME free hosts do it - follow closely
with free accounts they know that phising sites will get onto their servers.
when a phising site set up they catch it (BUT DO NOT SHUT IT DOWN) - they wait for traffic to start to hit the server .........
Advertisements and Spamming people.
I hosted a free host, kicked them off because of the spamming. They refused to stop saying it was thier right and a freedom of speech.
I told them it was my freedom of pipe, and they were not using it anymore, seeya.
They tried to take us to court, and lost in pre-trial.... We got one hell of a counter though, still have not seen a dime.....
