ay like a 100 gigs. Something fast and cheap. Is there something that can be used on my computer maybe?

I have very little ssh knowledge so I would prefer something simple but I can get someone to do the work for me if need be.

If you have a VPS or Dedicated server running cpanel then look at CPremote

cPremote - cPanel remote rsync backup software is a user friendly plugin for managing backup of cPanel accounts. It is a perfect solutions for taking uncompressed incremental cPanel backups to a remote sever over ssh. This script is 100% compatible with cPanel incremental backup. So you can use the same method of cPanel, to restore cPremote backups.

cPremote have the following features,

7 days backup retentions
Remote and local storage
Don't use the entire disk space of your cPanel server.
CPU usage limited to 10% of your CPU using cpulimit. So no CPU usage on backup time
Direct sync of home folders. Increase speed to 80%
Auto remove backups , when you delete a cPanel account
Restore Backups
It don't compress the backups. So your server load will be normal during backup time
You can schedule the backup on daily, weekly and monthly basis

Openssh secured communication channel.
Priority scheduled backup process
Backup alerts

What kind of backup are you looking to do? Are you wanting to download it to your home computer or are you looking to store it elsewhere on the web?

There's a couple of methods that you can try - cpremote is a great option. The others on the list would be to contact your host, see if you can attach a drive (you mail it, they mail it back).

When we do remote backups, we back them up to other machines, so rsync is best in those cases. We've moved some HUGE sites in the past (in excess of 400GB).

Last option would be talk to your host, make backups in sections as 1 HUGE file can sometimes be an issue when doing downloads. Have them break it into 10GB sections. 10GB is huge too, but you get the idea).

In my experience the rsync is the best option, as moving large backup file is not necessary as cPanel create the archive file which will require additional space to store before transfer to backup server.

I am not familiar with the product but doesn't that assume op is using cpanel? (and only apps that cpanel can handle)

yes because cpanel is the most commonly used control panel and as the OP has given no details then we can only offer solutions on assumptions

....or ask questions. There is nothing here to suggest he is using any control panel

he asked for a fast and cheap solution to backup 100G which i have gave.

you asked a question 2 hrs after the OP posted and have their gave yoiu any answer NO, so must not be needed that fast then.

cPanel has the possibility to backup/transfer sites. Also, you might like to try 3rd party tool xCloner, it makes a full site/db backup/restorations, splits large archives and transfers to another server without issue.
It's really great solution and we're always recommending to our customers.
