What do you look for in a host?

As a host, I am curious what you look for in a host. Do you consider server specs? or just price? Is there a certain review site you check before you order?

Seldom get from the review site, but good if can be a reference.

Probably will be the service and price.

I look at pricing, reliability, disk space, bandwidth, customer support, and the nice little added bonuses (such as free advertising credits)

reliability (...) customer support
both of which can't really be judged by what the host claims, or by the guarantees. It takes real experience with the company to judge those aspects.

I'm a rank beginner, and I looked for a company which I expect will be there next year, and in 5 years. One of my criteria is that the host be in an office building, not someone's basement. Google satellite maps took care of that.

This may seem bizarre, but that's how it struck me.

Also, for rookies, consider bundling web development software if you are after the beginners' market.

I am very disappointed that the entire review industry is a scam, a money-spinner.

I look for a host that has a reasonable price. But not too cheap. Many people are giving their services away 2.99 for 6 months.. its just ridiculous. Most of the cheap hosts don't care about quality of network or customer service just truing $$.

You should place the server uptime primary :)
after that you should get your bugdet with price and then features
i thing many hosting company do best offer for price with good and high tech features

I am check support/sales response time, server specs, load time of a site they host, how many sites they put on a server, and price.

I consider a magnitude of specs when i look for a host for my websites.
1.Obviously is Uptime(99% is generally good)
2.Feature set
3.Client support(Chat support is recommended)
4.Reputation

A well reputed company with good support and a sufficient features get my Vote.
Costs need to be nominal as well.
