So what do Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Michael Dell e-mail about (particularly after they've just spent two days together at Gates' house)? They discuss Susan Dell's triathlon performance, of course. Here's part of a recent exchange.

To: Bill Gates; Melinda French; Warren Buffett

"Bill, Melinda and Warren, Susan had a great swim today and a superfast ride. She was the 53rd woman out of the water and caught up to be 13th by the end of the bike. It was very hot and the run was hard! Susan finished in 5:42, which is 14th in her age group. Her time qualifies her for a full Ironman distance!!"

"It's an amazing thing to do this race, but to do it so well is fantastic! We looked last night on the web and saw the results. Your bike time is so amazing. I'm sure most of the contestants have done a lot of these events before. Congratulations! Try and rest for a few days!"

Buffett replied that while he couldn't help Susan much with swimming, running, and biking, he is qualified to help with pre-race carbo loading for an Ironman.

Intriguing.

My theory...

Michael Dell: "Susan did a great job, don't you think Mr. Gates?"

Bill Gates: "Shut-up and sell Windows."

Michael Dell: "Yes, master."

Bill Gates: "Now leave me alone so I can get back to controlling Earth's orbit."
