Web Hosting

I just hate it when web hosts mislead you and literally ruin your web site. Darn those money sucking hosts that do nothing but disappoint me. Now I have to transfer my hosting to Globat. I hope that they don't make the same mistake like what my previous web host did. All i can say is that these companies should know better. We pay real bucks and its no joke to throw away client's money and files!

That's not good with you...As today everyone uses the R1Soft backup Solution to provide the backup to individual customer level. In case of File missed or corrupted. Your old provider also think about to use this....
 
I've heard this countless times, so it's a pretty common problem.

The reality today is that many hosts charge only a few dollars for unrealistic resources, so then their relationship with each customer suffers, as well as the service itself. Without details, of course, we can't know exactly what the problem is.

Also, you mentioned your files. With every host I've been at, while they try to maintain backups, they also say that it is your responsibility to keep your own backups. Either way, it is always wise to make your own backups in case of any problems. This shouldn't be hard to do at least weekly.
 
Who are "they"? You'd better not be a hater! If there is an issue to resolve or someone guilty about something, you'd say what you want to say. Now it looks like you are doing business in favor of a "overselling" hosting provider that does "unlimited hosting" for $4.44/month. Good job!

When it comes to web hosting your site / files are never safe.. you can be on your own server and still it will not be safe.

Always keep current up to date back ups of your file never rely on your web host what ever you pay you can be paying a lot still do not rely on them to keep your backups because one day they can slip or they could be false advertising and never even be making back ups which is really bad..

Depending on your requirements then a certain host will be best for you.

In hosting it is not the hosts responsibility to take or retain backups for their clients.

my own PC is backed up daily to an external HDD (only mission critical stuff).

As a webhost we do make daily/weekly/monthly backups via cpremote (rsync) but for our own needs. clients can pay a £2 a month fee which would give them a right to request a copy of these backups if needed or if they mess up their site we will use these backups to restore their account. If they dont pay the £2 then it will cost them £15 to get a copy of the backups or for us to restore any of their accounts.
even clients that do make their own backups pay the £2 a month as if they mess up its easier for us to restore their accounts via cpremote that clients doing this though FTP.
 
You are right. We have to be sincere and before buying we should have a look on the web Hosting companies and even you can take a look on the reviews sites for it.
