What requirements do you have? Is it a busy site? and what is it coded in (PHP, ASP, .NET etc...)? Is it database driven? and do you know how much disk space and transfer you need?

if its PHp o for linux host or asp go for windows host. or html fully static u can choose any one of those. Any how now a lot of in the market

Much depends on your budget and other requirements.
As for me I'd advise you services from A2hosting.com. They provide different web hosting solutions that will be useful for you. Their price ranges are quite acceptable and support works fast.

You might want to check out the "shared and reseller hosting offers" forum and find a host that fits your personal needs.

Hi,

i need to host my web site, can anyone suggest me a best place.

Susan
Before ANYONE can suggestion or advise you, we need to know more information. What is the website about, approx. how many people will be visiting, what software you wish to use etc.. etc.. After that, THEN we can suggestion or give you some advice/tips.

I'd advise you to start from cheap web hosting that offers free domain name for life. I mean **************.com. Their budget hosting is 12 Months Cost $4.95/Month, 24 Months Cost $3.95/Month.

The O/P hasn't responded or logged in since creating this thread so I'll close it :). If susanandrews77 wishes to re-open the thread she can contact any of the HD Moderators / Administrators :)

Hello Susan, and welcome to HostingDiscussion.

Choosing a host can be somewhat difficult. You want to choose the right host for the job, and make sure you're going to get quality at the same time.

A few things to do is do a general search on hosting companies (Google, HD, etc). Check out all of the offers.

1. Determine what your needs are.

2. Research hosting companies that fit those needs.

3. Make a list of the hosts that fit your needs and budget (DO NOT settle on the cheapest, you're likely to get burned).

4. Out of that list, start doing research on those companies.

5. Once you've narrowed it down, start testing their support and sales, to make sure they meet your support response requirements, etc

6. Research each company's policies, warranty, etc.

These steps will help you narrow your options, and choose a host that is right for you.

Don't be afraid of making a mistake....there are many resources that are here to help you, such as HD, and there are many hosts out there, which are extremely easy to change.

One key factor, since you seem to be new at this kind of search...ALWAYS make backups of your website, databases, etc. If you need to switch hosting companies, you'll need these so that you can make a more seemless switch. plus they are really good to have in case something really bad happens.
