when i am doing web hosting, should i choose a host that is in US or Canada? Which one is better. My traffic comes from both US and Canada

I would choose a U.S. web host. There are more of them around, and I'd trust a U.S. datacenter over a Canada one. No specific reason, just my opinion. But, if MOST your traffic comes from Canada, I'd go with one there.

There's absolutely no reason to not trust a Canadian datacenter. There aren't as many data center's in Canada, but the ones who exist are just reliable as the ones in the US.

You mean to tell me companies like Bell & Telus aren't reliable?

He didn't say he wouldn't trust a Canadian one he said he would trust a US one OVER a Canadian one, I would also as I live in the US I am not comforable having my server in any other country to tell you the truth.

It's purely preference.. I live in the UK and would trust a UK server over any US or Canadian datacenter.

Thats because i live in the UK, I'm not saying that US or candain dc's are any worse but I prefer dealing with companies in the same country. I can save a whole host of problems down the line.

Yes it is important your visitors demographics. I would prefer U.S hosting companies if my majority of visitors are from U.S. However still I would choice U.S hosting comp. while my visitors mostly came from Canada.

yeh same here..for the same reason because i live in the uk its not because i have problem with anyone else..which UK host do you recommend and use eleven??

I would recommend webfusion.co.uk or unitedhosting.co.uk for shared space. For dedicated servers my choice would be http://www.123-reg.co.uk/dedicated.shtml or http://www.giacom.com/

there is a few more I would recommend but cant think of the top of my head hope it helps.

I think along with the location one should prefer a hosting company which provides top quality professional webhosting solutions (24/7 tech support, 24 hour live chat and phone support, email support, ticket support and guarantee 99.9% uptime). Their should be no compromise in service performance and their aim should be complete customer satisfaction.

I agree with eukhost. We have a good database of clients from UK, Canada,US & lots of other country inspite of the fact that our datacenter located in US.

european servers are a little more pricey compared to US servers on the average so that leads to lower prices in US which brings in clients from europe
