Hello everyone I m about to launch my own site ............
But i m very much newbie for web hosting and domain name registration

Actually i m from india so in starting i m expecting traffic from india but aftr that site will go international ...........
so logically i shall buy web space from india .........But i m very much confused about that ...........according to my few knowledge India have less data centre and most of hosting site just have reseller account and they actually outsource web space and actually your site is lauch on US or Other big hoster ...................so even i buy web space from web space it actually on US so showing less speed for india

Plz suggest me what shall i do
*buy web space from india web hosting site (even they are just an reseller account
* Buy web space directly from US server ( They r much cheaper )
*buy web space which have own data centre in INDIA ( if u have list plz plz send me )

You could get hosting from some other place in Asia or even Australia, and thus having it closer to home.

Really it isn't that important where you server is located if you're just hosting a website. You could have a server in the United States and you wouldn't notice much of a difference in loads speeds, or even a difference at all!

With web hosting, it doesn't matter which country it is based in as long as they provide a good service. The speed has nothing to do with your location, as far as i know

I think that the location of the web hosting is not so important and you need to understand that. Anyway closer - better but never critical ;)

Buy space closer to your audience because they the ones who visit your web site and grab the content faster but also closer to you so you can manage the site quicker.

If your audiene from India and your customers are in India, look for hosts near by such as Australia, Singapore or near your area.

I am in California and my server is in North Carolina. No matter how far you are at, all it matters is good servers. :)

Routing is whats important here. Some hosts offer great connectivity in some areas, and really poor connectivity in others.

If I were you, I'd simply look at one that provides the best overall worldwide performance (you can do this with online tools that pings an address from different checkpoints worldwide).

Just lem me mention that there are companies who have datacenters both in the usa and india, I read that ***********.com was about to launch their datacenters in india, wonder if they have already?

The thing is that if you go for an Indian data center , the local visitors will be fine , but the rest of the world may experience problems as "Asia" frequently has conenction issues.
if you wanna be in the World Wide Web :D , go for a data center in California , US !

You can actually buy hosting in any elsewhere, it wont affect so much. However buying a hosting based on India - providing the server located in India data center, can make the location speed faster for local visitors.

I think if network is stable it's of no importance, whether ***********.com datacenters are in India or USA, there may be only one situation when India-based datacenter is prefereable, it's if the site's audience is in India as well.

If your site will have high-bandwidth needs, location and network will make a difference. So it depends on what you're running.

Another consideration, if you're just starting up, is cost. If a local provider is cheaper (or more expensive) than a foreign one, consider that as well.
