How many of people check and/or ask questions about the provider's network (AS, Upstreams, equipment) before sign up?

I'd have to estimate that 80-90% of our customers take our network into serious consideration before starting an account with us. Since our customers are not coming to us for the cheapest price (although we are far from the most expensive) they therefore want to know what the quality of our data centers, staff, and network.

For my point of view, if a customer does not ask about your network, they are not asking all of the right questions before giving you their business. ;)

The only time we get asked these types of questions is from our customers that are knowledgeable and understand networking and server technology.

however we do get questions from our non-tech savvy customers but these normally relate too office locations, domain and product offering questions.

Same here. And just to add up, there are those that ask those questions just for the sake of asking them, just because someone told them that this is important. You supply them with the information, they clearly don't get most of it and they just move along with other questions :rolleyes2

A client asking you questions is always a good way to go because when you convert them to serious sales they going to last with your service good or bad.
