How many of you here actually design pages from scratch, and how many use templates and just replace the content?

I personally do a little bit of both depending on how big of a project is it, and what type of look Im wanting.

Thats a really good site Jonathan, good work on it :)
Most of the time I do the design for my sites myself, its just as easy really apart from if you have to do images.
Images are something I really cant do, need a lot more practise at that ;)
 
Im pretty good about whipping something up in fireworks or photoshop. But then there are the awful times when I get a brain fart and just cant get anything going.

My weakness in design is normally Database manipulation. But Im working on that area.

Hi Jonathan

Long time no see...It is good to see that you have finally released the NEW version of your website and I wish you all the very best in terms of sales. I am still struggling to get my site up...so much to do :)
 
I hope so soon...I am working on the website in terms of content wise day by day. The website is complete by the graphic designer...I just have to add in the content, pricing and so on but hopefully I am looking at by the end of this week of early next week.
 
I do it from scratch. I love designing it and putting everything together, then seing the final thing and thinking: I made this!

Plus, the extra control is definitely worthwhile. You dont want to look like someone elses website

That looks really good! Its a bit of a problem though in 800 x 600 (have to scroll horizontally and it ruins it a bit)
