So, Ive been researching different VPS control panels, and out of my search i discovered Virtualizor, made by the same guys who made Softaculous.
i played around with the demo, and it looked nice, easy and clean.... would anyone recommend it?

I use Virtualizor alot and we recommend it.
Also you have a free month of trial. So might as well try it.

I would go for SolusVM rather then Virtualizor though I must say there UI for clients is pretty nice

The only reason we chose not to use Virtualizor is that it is a SaaS. And we prefer to have control over the master and its network it is run on.

I think you may be confusing it for something else? Virtualizor it's SaaS - you install it on your own server and have full control over it. The only thing it does it periodically "call home" to check licences are valid.

We highly recommend Virtualizor - we use it for our VPS offering and it has worked really well so far.

The support guys behind it are excellent and have even incorporated some of the suggestions we made to them into the final product.

Good catch. Had mixed up Virtualizor with http://www.virtpanel.com/

Whats your view on the new SolusVM client-side theme thats being developed: http://blog.soluslabs.com/2013/03/29/solusvm-v1-14-client-area-bootstrap-theme/

An improvement? Not on par with Virtualizor or better? I personally love it and thinks its a huge improvement.

Great, people might find it plain and boring but it's not if providers think outside the box. We're using the beta version and have modified it with our own template and with it being bootstrap it's so much easier to customise from top to the bottom!

SolusVM is a great piece of software. You can do XEN , OPEN VZ and KVM with SolusVM panel. The interface to the control panel is simply clean , modern and sleek easy to navigate and manage your servers with just a few clicks of a button on your mouse.

Solusvm i would recommend, its easy and affordable and takes out alot of hassle and more easier on the client side to use as well.

We have tried both. Currently, we use SolusVM. We used Virtualizor a few years ago in the first development stages. Worked flawlessly, but it was very limited to connecting to billing software (WHMCS, etc) for automation. That is the only reason we moved to SolusVM. Just some feedback.

I also remember it being extremely easy to setup. :)

We use SolusVM and Proxmox for VPS/VM's and OpenNebula for Cloud Automation. I have never tried Virtualizor, the guys who runs Softaculous is quite ambitious and his team is obviously good, so the product would be a good one. What i know for sure is that it has a growing customer base.

We use SolusVM, just because it does what it needs to, and works will almost all of the billing systems.

Always check whether you billing system can cope before your purchase something like this.

For the record, we went with Virtualizor. The WHMCS module works flawlessly, and allows users to manage their VPS directly via the client portal :).
