Varnish or Lightspeed??

Hi,

We will like to upgrade our Apache shared servers. I will like your suggestions as to interchange Apache to Light speed or install Varnish. What of the options below are possible? All our servers have Cent OS installed and while searching google and varnish, it says that Varnish is usually installed on a Debian systems.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks!

we moved our server to litespeed some time ago andf found a differnece and our client found a difference in performance

only 1 minor drawback though. if you need to get any direct assistance from cpanel you will need to switch back to apache as cpanel dont yet offer support on a litespeed sever

I do not see a point spending money for LS when you can install cpnginx and have a pretty fast web server combo.

i have servers with Litespeed and servers with Nginx and the ones with LS are more efficient. only downfall is if you require direct cpanel assistance you need to revert back to apache until you are finished with cpanel support

Litespeed is worth the money really, Varish i've had problems with before. Litespeed no problems what so ever.

Litespeed has had a small issue when they first released vers 4.1.11 update in the fact it would prevent some sites loading etc. but they fixed this and requested a force update. just wish cpanel would acknowlege litespeed so if youd require cpanel assistance you do not have to revert back to apache until the cpanel assitance is no longer required

Varnish all the way, lightspeed is good.... but varnish is better

i use unixy's varnish plugin work's a treat with Cpanel very configurable and drops the load considerably (compared to apache on it's own or apache & nginx)

We've been using lightspeed for years and it seems to work quite well - that being said an over configured apache may also do the trick rather than using either lightspeed or varnish.
