Has anyone here played the game Uplink? I've just started playing again after quite a long brake from it. Check it out at www.introversion.co.uk. It's a game where you take the role as a professional hacker for a company called Uplink. Well worth the money.

And remember. Trust is a weakenss.

Yep, you need to know a bit of C++ though BUt there are a lot of mods out there for it that others have made

www.modlink.net I think is the site with most on. The FBI mod, the Simply Uplink mod etc. are all worth trying out. If you have the Dev CD you can get into the Dev CD forum for more of them + source.

Yes, I have completed the story, only on the good side though, would never take the bad side

You really need Microsoft C++ though, otherwies you wont be able to compile anything you make/change

Man that all sounds cool but I know nothing about C/C++. Do you know if anyone has made some hacker software for the game which automatically creates a bounce between all the computers on the world map? That would be a tremendous time saver for me.

I wish there was gooooogle, but I dont think there is. There is one that makes saving and loading bounce paths save even after you leave the game though

By the way, the FBI mod is awesome

I have not tried the FBI mod yet but I have heard about it. I wish someone would make some software for the bouncing. I spend far to much time creating my path when I should be changing someone's social security number and putting them down as deceased.

HadleyHost. If you do buy it via their website using (which I think you should) could I please have you're order number? If I convince someone to buy the game, I'm entitled to getting the bonus disk for free.

Just a thought. You can also claim a bonus disk using your own order number once you get one person to buy, so you won't loose anything by telling me yours.

That game was so fun .... I always got pretty far, but then did something stupid like trying to get into the places I wasen't supposed to

A little BAT file assigned with a shortcut to control+alt+shift+c

copy g:\uplink\users\myfile.dat or whatever it was g:\uplink\backup

THen I restored the game if I died
