Nice one. I'm onto Article Marketing in a big way. It does work tremendously well. I need to seriously look into RSS though.

Viral marketing is more than just giving out a free ebook or report. In order to give it viral effect, you must have links to your site in it and allow it to be passed on. The viral effect comes into play as your visitors pass the ebook/report on to their lists and visitors.

None of the tips here will harm your search engine rankings in any way unless you are keyword stuffing or targeting keywords that aren't actually anything to do with your site. Except for the RSS feeds, these are all tried and true methods of getting a bit of SE love for your site. RSS feeds may be newer technology but it has proven to be very effective at providing ever-changing content which also adds to the love the engines will show your site.
 
chatterbox is correct, the methods mentioned in the original post are very legit and common ways to increase traffic. Keyword stuffing and having irrelevant keywords are what you should be worrying about
