Thoughts on managed hosting?

We are looking for a dedicated server, but have special needs. We are not in a position to buy/build our own server because of up front costs...

we are currently looking into performancehosting.net because they can offer what we require.

Our needs are:
Windows server
Helm control panel
Coldfusion MX
MS-Sql 2000
ASP
.net
webmail
ftp
custom private nameservers

Anyone know anything about performancehosting.net?

How about ideas to meet our needs? Any input about costs, issues, liscencing to build one of these?

Thanks much in advance.

Computerguy, since partly you are telling us your server needs, would you like us to move this thread to the Web Hosting Requests forum so that members can come to you with the best custom offer possible?

Search for "performancehosting.net" at HD revealed nothing.

Best,

Artashes...

Thanks for the comments... I'd already searched for performancehosting.net and didn't find anything here, so I was just wondering if anyone else might have had experience with them.

I guess that would be ok if you were to move it...

Thanks,

That would depend on whether you are looking ONLY for recommendations or custom offers. If both, then this NEEDS to be moved as per forum rules.

You haven't broken any rules computerguy.
It would be against the rules for people to make offers to you outside of the request forums.

As Blue suggested, nothing wrong with your posts. I just wanted to understand them to see if I could help you better.

If recommendations, then it stays here. Sorry for the mess up and good luck.

Best,

I'm not the best guru when it comes to windows boxes, but I can certainly chime in about where you're looking to purchase a box from. Server Matrix would be my recommendation for the best company. As you've probably already seen the pricing there is pretty competitive and affordable for those of us who are looking to run with the smallest budget one can run on. The staff there has been great when I've needed their help on certain issues. They tend to be a little slow on some issues that are less important, but if you have a problem they work for you in a fast and well informed manner.

I had the 'pleasure' one night of server troubles that were related to what turned out to be a tough fix. I don't remember exactly what the issue was at this point, but I do remember SM being helpful and doing their job.

Sorry for leaving this thread hanging...

We had some emergency issues we've been dealing with over the past week... we had to make a decision and we did go with performancehosting... so far..... we are pleased...

We are leasing the server... we had the needs I outlined above but not the capital to purchase all the software liscencing...

Anyway, thanks to those who responded.. and we may be looking into your other recommendations soon as we outgrow this server.

Respectfully....
